diabetes support group

No-one knows what it’s really like to be diagnosed with diabetes, and then to live with it every single day, unless they’ve been through it.

As a Group we have tried to address this by providing support in the form of events covering both type 1 and type 2 diabetes in adults and children. Unfortunately, attendance has dwindled significantly over recent years, so we are now in the process of reviewing what form of support to offer; if you have any suggestions please do let us know (details below and on the ‘Contact Us’ page).

If you/your child/a relative has recently been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2, or have been living with the condition for many years, and feel you would like to speak to or email someone who understands, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our email address and mobile number are given below, and your call/message will be directed to a suitable individual who will get back to you. Sometimes, just talking things through with someone can make all the difference in the world, and hopefully make you feel better.

We also understand the pressure put on carers/partners and the rest of the family - because diabetes does affect the whole family – so if you have any queries at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Just remember two things: you have diabetes, it doesn’t have you, and humour and hope will help you cope!
