Welcome to the Stourbridge, Dudley and District Voluntary Group website!
A very Happy New Year to you all! We hope you have all had a great Christmas and are suitably rested, refreshed and ready for 2010.
Towards the end of last year we introduced a Group mobile phone which gives you just one number on which to contacts us. The number is:
07985 788123
Different members of the committee will have the mobile phone on a monthly rota and if you can't get through leave a message and one of us will return your call. We also now have one email address which you can contact us on:
info@diabetes-stourbridgeanddudley.com
You can contact any one of the committee on this address. This information can also be found on our Contact Us page.
We are currently working on a new programme of events for the coming year and this will be available to view on our Events page shortly. Also, the new edition of our yearly newsletter the Testing Times is currently in production and should be ready for distribution the first week of March. If you are on our mailing list you will automatically receive a copy and if you aren't but would like to receive one, please register with us by contacting us either by telephone or email (remember, if you are registered with Diabetes UK we won't necessarily have you on our database so please contact us direct).
One of the Group's aims for 2010 is to become more involved in local diabetes care and with this in mind we will shortly be sending out a survey to find out about your experiences; whether you attend a hospital clinic or whether you are seen at your local GPs clinic or if you are a parent or carer of a child with diabetes, we want to know what experiences, either good or bad, you have had. By gathering this information and by working alongside healthcare professionals, we hope to be able to identify areas that need improving and, in the same way, share information on good practice. We hope you will be able to assist us in this.
And finally, the Group would like to welcome Tricia Farquharson as a new committee member. Tricia has type 2 diabetes and will be a valuable asset to the Group and in representing adults with type 2 in our local area.
